The Narrative Points of View

There are four points of view revealed throughout the story of The Sound and the Fury. The four narrator’s are: Benjy, Quentin, Jason and the final section ends with a third person narrator. Each perspective helps to shape the meaning of the novel as the characters reveal to us their thoughts. There is some commonality throughout each section. There are common themes of biblical references, time, the demise of the Compson’s and Southern tradition, and the relationship of how we shape our destiny by how we perceive and react to our surroundings.
